I've taught workshop weekends, classes, and private lessons across the United States, and below are some of the very nice things that students and promoters have had to say about the experience of working with me.
Have you had a private lesson with me, or have you attended a class or workshop that I taught? Would you like to share your experience? If so, just
. Please also indicate whether I may publish your comments on my Web site, list you as a reference, or maybe just keep your comments to myself.

Two "Workshop Days": Eight Workshops Taught Solo
Hosted by Tom Johnson
Hartford, CT
January 17, 2004
September 18, 2004
- January Workshops:
- Movement for Smooth and Relaxed Power
- Connection (Putting Spring in Your Swing)
- Springing in Your Basics
- Wild and Wacky Whips
- October Workshops:
- Movement and Connection
- Musicality
- Advanced Footwork
- Rolling it all into a dance: choreography, showcasing the concepts from the earlier workshops
In 2004, Tom Johnson of Hartford, CT, brought me out twice to teach "workshop
days". Each involved teaching all day Saturday, with three workshops
(one hour and fifteen minutes each), a dinner break (Tom's homemade gourmet
dinners!), then a one hour class followed by a dance. The first trip was
in January, and that weekend was such a success that we decided before I
left to schedule a second appearance for that same year (September).
Some highlights from Tom's letter about working with me:
".... I recommend him without reservation.... As a teacher, his knowledge of the dance is broad and deep and he puts a great deal into the preparations for any engagement he has.... at the dance, Edwin danced with nearly everybody.... Our event in January, 2004 with Edwin was the best attended ever." [emphasis added; view the full letter]

"My own private lesson with you was amazing. I felt that you gave me really good, detailed techniques and your explanations were down-to-earth and easy to understand. If something eluded me, I really appreciated that you had no problem stopping and explaining it in another way. In short, I came out of that lesson really excited about dancing and applying what I had learned on the floor. I would recommend you to anyone, and in fact, I already have to a few people!"
